2024 Weekly Play Day Procedures
(also referred to as Game Played)

  1. Players are required to check in 30 minutes prior to their tee time.  Please arrive early as your tee time may be adjusted for cancellations or the Pro Shop may have us go out early.

  2. For Tuesday play day, members may sign up one other member.  Foursomes are established at the discretion of the tee time coordinator.  Tee times are determined by random draw, excluding the first Tuesday of the month when there is a board meeting.  Board members tee off first on those Tuesdays.

  3. The Pro Shop recommends that 18 hole rounds be completed in 4 1/4 hours or less.

  4. Two signed and attested score cards with players listed in alphabetical order by last name must be turned in after each round.  There must be at least two members playing in a group to be eligible for the weekly game.  Handicap, score, net and putts (if kept) must agree.  One card should be given to the Tournament Chair or her delegate; the other to the Handicap Chair.

  5. Special circumstances such as winter rules, automatic two-putt, and lift, clean and place shall be determined by the Rules Chair and will be announced or posted before play.

  6. All scores for the foursome (gross, net, game score and putting pool putts) should be posted on the game page in the Weekly Sweeps binder.

  7. Any birdies, chip-ins, and putts should be circled on the score card and recorded in the Sweeps Binder.

  8. Flights are determined by handicap range.  A player is noted as playing whether she finishes the round or not or has an x-out.  There are usually 2 flights, but if the number of players exceeds 18, then there will be 3 flights.

  9. A player who X’s out of a hole will be out of the weekly game if the hole is involved in the game.  The player is also not eligible for low putts for that week.  The net game will not be used for monthly low net. Starting 1/15/2024, if you do not play a hole, do not X out that hole when you post.  Leave it blank.  You must hit your tee shot in order to X out of a hole.

  10. A minimum of eight players is required for weekly sweeps payouts.

  11. You should post your score in the GHIN app the same day of play.  You should select "Home" for all Tuesday play except for the Club Championship in the fall, where you will select "Competition".

    USGA States:
Scores posted with a “C” for Competition are not used any differently for the purpose of calculating a Handicap Index.  (They do not stay on for a longer time period in calculating a Handicap Index like they did prior to 2020.)

The Competition score designation provides a way for committees to evaluate if any players perform better or worse in competitive versus recreational rounds, which may be used during a handicap review.

NOTE:   WPLGA Team Play and Association Days should not be posted with 'Competition'.
